Account research brief
Can the bot brief a seller on a real public company using only facts a reader can check?
Version 1.0 · used for Account research, Meeting prep
Sample input
- Target: Twilio Inc. (twilio.com). Chosen because it is public, files with the SEC and has an investor relations site, so every fact can be checked.
- Seller product: QuietLine (fictional). Same product every run, so results are comparable.
- Run date and bot version are recorded with every result.
The prompt, word for word
You are helping a sales rep prepare for first outreach. Target company: Twilio Inc. (twilio.com), a publicly traded company. Seller's product (fictional, for this test): "QuietLine", a tool that checks recorded customer calls for compliance problems. Write a one-page account brief with these sections: 1. What the company does (2-3 sentences). 2. Three recent events from the last 12 months, each with a date and a public source link. 3. Two or three likely business priorities, each tied to one of those events or to the company's own public filings. 4. Two job titles (not named people) who would most likely own a problem QuietLine solves, and why. 5. Three discovery questions the rep could ask. Use only public sources. Do not include personal contact details. If you are unsure of a fact, say so instead of guessing.
People and companies marked fictional are made up for this test. Real companies are used only where every fact must be checkable against public sources.
What a good answer contains
- About one page, the five sections in order.
- Every event has a date and a working link to a public source that supports it.
- Priorities are tied to cited evidence, not generic statements.
- Job titles only, no personal names, emails or phone numbers.
- Questions are open-ended and specific to this company.
Scoring rubric (10 points)
| Criterion | Points | How it's scored |
|---|---|---|
| Accuracy of company description | 2 | 2 = correct and specific; 1 = correct but generic; 0 = wrong. |
| Recent events are real, dated and sourced | 3 | 1 point per event whose link loads and supports the claim, dated within 12 months of the run date. |
| Priorities follow from evidence | 2 | 2 = each priority cites an event or filing; 1 = partly; 0 = generic. |
| Right buyer roles | 1 | 1 = titles plausibly own call compliance or recording; 0 = otherwise. |
| Useful discovery questions | 2 | 2 = three open, company-specific questions; 1 = generic; 0 = missing. |
Automatic fail:
- Any fabricated fact, quote, event or source link.
- Any personal contact details (emails, phone numbers) for named people.
- Ignoring the instruction to use public sources only.
Pass = 7 or more of 10 points and no auto-fail.
